Masaan pursues two separate story circular segments in the town of Varanasi that in the long run merge. One pursues the adventure of Devi (Richa Chadha), who needs to manage the loss of her beau and defeat the blame she feels for his passing. The second pursues the adventure of Deepak (Vicky Kaushal), who originates from a family that consumes memorial service fires at the Varanasi ghats.
